NOVA Chemicals Installs Upgrades to Support Rotational Molding Equipment at Centre for Performance Applications

For immediate release, Monday, October 6, 2014, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

NOVA Chemicals today announced a large suite of new equipment and component upgrades for its rotational molding equipment. The purchases are part of the expansion and transformation of the Centre for Performance Applications in Calgary, and are a key investment to help deliver more value to customers through product and applications development work.

The upgrades include both equipment and state-of-the-art software to bring the Ferry Industries rotational molding equipment in line with industry best practices, and to provide improved reliability, data quality, process control and ergonomics. Additionally, a new insulated drop box and Jerry can mold will provide the ability to make multi-layer parts.

“These investments are an example of our commitment to expanding our innovation capabilities and to better serving our customers now and into the future,” said Sarah Marshall, technical services leader, NOVA Chemicals Technology. “The upgrades will help us better simulate the challenges our customers are facing, and provide more accurate and reliable data to help collaborate with them on solutions.”

The rotational molding equipment investments and upgrades help enable the company and its customers to bring better-designed, better-performing products to market more quickly. They add to NOVA Chemicals’ polyethylene capabilities which include a wide range of R&D equipment and facility assets, world-class manufacturing, and dedicated teams of market-specific experts.

NOVA Chemicals will be highlighting the rotational molding equipment purchases and upgrades during the 2014 Rotoplas Exposition October 6 – 9, Rosemont, Ill, where NOVA Chemicals has been the premiere sponsor for the last three years.
