NOVA Chemicals Files an Application to Cease to be a Reporting Issuer in Canada

Calgary, Alberta (February 26, 2013) -NOVA Chemicals Corporation (“NOVA Chemicals”) today announced that it has applied to the securities regulatory authorities in each of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon for a decision that it be deemed to have ceased to be a reporting issuer in such jurisdictions. As a reporting issuer under applicable Canadian securities laws, NOVA Chemicals is subject to Canadian filing and disclosure requirements. If the decision is made, NOVA Chemicals will no longer be a reporting issuer in any jurisdiction in Canada, but will continue to comply with the reporting requirements under the trust indentures governing its debt securities, including making filings with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
