Victor Alvarado
SVP, Operations and Engineering
Victor Alvarado is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering, responsible for the safe, reliable and competitive operations of the company’s manufacturing facilities and its support functions. He plays a pivotal role in the safe and successful completion of the company’s significant growth investments in Sarnia, ON, while providing strategic leadership to ensure world-class competitiveness of NOVA’s manufacturing assets. Alvarado joined NOVA Chemicals in June of 2021. His years of experience in petrochemicals and process safety has helped him become an expert in chemical engineering, process optimization and energy.
Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals, Alvarado was Operations Director of Global Aromatics at INEOS. Prior to holding that position, Alvarado rose through the ranks at BP and its predecessor company, Amoco, in various engineering, operations and commercial roles, culminating as Vice President of Global Aromatics. Some of his biggest achievements included leading manufacturing organizations to higher levels of reliability and turnaround performance in the US, Europe and Asia.
Alvarado earned a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois.
