Chief Supply Chain & Procurement Officer

James “JT” Jones is the Chief Supply Chain & Procurement Officer of NOVA Chemicals, responsible for global supply chain and procurement operations. JT joined NOVA Chemicals in February of 2025. With over 30 years of experience in P&L Leadership, strategy consulting, supply chain management and procurement, JT brings a wealth of expertise in optimizing supply chain and procurement networks, identifying and capturing efficiencies, and forging strategic partnerships.

Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals, JT was Senior VP of Procurement and High Growth Regions, Chief Procurement Officer at The Lubrizol Corporation where he was responsible for leading a global turnaround of the Procurement organization to create a top quartile procurement team. Simultaneously, JT was responsible for leading the key revenue and margin growth initiatives for Lubrizol’s High Growth Regions. Prior to Lubrizol, JT was Chief Procurement Officer, VP Global Procurement, at PPG Industries. In that role, he developed a global Management Operating System (MOS) process throughout the procurement organization to ensure real-time measurement, action planning and continuous improvement on all key Procurement metrics. Under JT’s leadership, the team continually exceeded its savings goals while also improving overall payment terms, increased the global team’s analytical capabilities, simplified and standardized processes globally, and increased number of category strategies ten-fold. Prior to PPG, JT has held leadership positions both in the US and in Asia in P&L Leadership, Procurement and Strategy Management of increasing responsibility at Celanese Corporation and Accenture.

Jones has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
