About Us
NOVA Chemicals’ olefins business provides customers in the petrochemical industry with a full suite of products and services. Our Geismar Olefins facility links the growing derivative markets with lower-cost feedstocks from North America, providing our supply customers with preferred market options and product distribution services. We proudly employ approximately 130 people at this facility.
Production & Operations
Geismar has been a vital part of the U.S. Gulf Coast petrochemical landscape since 1967, being acquired by NOVA Chemicals in 2017. Jointly owned (88.5% NOVA Chemicals, 11.5% SABIC), the site produces approximately 1.95 billion pounds of ethylene, 50 million pounds of polymer-grade propylene, 14 million gallons of crude butadiene, and 9.7 million gallons of Debutanized Aromatic Concentrate annually.
Our 130-person team ensures safe, efficient delivery of olefin products via pipeline, barge, and rail. The Geismar site plays a key role in supporting NOVA’s mission to reshape how plastics are designed, made, and recycled.
