SVP and Chief Financial Officer
Julie Beck joined NOVA Chemicals in 2016 as the SVP and Chief Financial Officer. In this position, she is responsible for providing strategic advice to management as well as direction and leadership to NOVA Chemicals’ finance and accounting teams.
Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals, Beck was VP of Supply Chain, Quality and JBS Operational Excellence at Joy Global. She worked at Joy Global for 8 years, starting in 2008 as the Vice President, Finance and divisional Chief Financial Officer for Joy Global’s Underground Mining segment. With three decades of corporate finance experience, Beck offers an extensive knowledge in financial analysis, strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and operations management.
Some of her biggest achievements include EVP and CFO of Journal Register Company; SVP, CFO and Treasurer of Norwood Promotional Products; VP-F for Inland Paperboard and Packaging; and Director of Finance Rockwell Automation.
Beck is a Certified Public Accountant, and graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor in Business Administration degree in Accounting. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of Invacare Corporation (NYSE: INV) on its Audit and Governance Committees. Beck has also been a director of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs (NYSE:HRH) and Wolverine Tube (NYSE:WLV) serving on their respective Audit Committees.
Outside of work, Beck is a member of American Institute of CPAs and the Financial Executives Institute. She is on the board of Invacare (NYSE :IVC), serving on the audit, governance, and nominating committees. Beck has also been the guest speaker at women’s leadership conferences and high schools and a guest lecturer at Princeton University and Butler University’s School of Business. She served on several non-profit boards, including the Leukemia Society of America, Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis, Inc., Ballet Internationale and Central Indiana Dance Ensemble.
