Maurizio La Noce

Maurizio La Noce is a member of the NOVA Chemicals’ Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee. 

He is one of the original “founders” of Mubadala (2002), where he led the Industry, Energy and Oil & Gas business development and investment practice. From the early days of Mubadala, he has contributed to major accomplishments across industries, most notably the establishment of Masdar (the Abu Dhabi future Energy Company) and the development of Emirates Aluminium, the precursor of Emirates Global Aluminum. He co-led the creation of GlobalFoundries, the US leading global semiconductor manufacturer, and the commercial structuring and negotiations of the landmark Dolphin Project. Lately, he led the creation of Mubadala Energy, the only operating independent upstream oil & gas company based in the Middle East.

Before joining Mubadala, Maurizio held several senior commercial and leadership positions in Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) and ENRON International while on various international assignments in Milan, London, Dallas and the United Arab Emirates.

He currently work as an Independent Senior Advisor out of Naples, Florida, serving on the Boards of several industrial businesses, including ACELEN (Refining & Marketing, Brazil), EGA Americas (Aluminium, UAE & US) and Mubadala Energy (Oil & Gas Exploration & Production, Refining & Marketing, Transportation & Energy, UAE).  

After earning a degree in Industrial Electronics at A. Beltrami in Milano, he completed his hydrocarbons education at the Oxford College of Petroleum Studies. In 2009, he was bestowed the title of “Commendatore of the Italian Republic” by the 11th President of the Italy, Dott. Giorgio Napolitano, following the nomination by the Italian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, for his contributions to the promotion of strong business and social ties between Italy and the UAE.
