Gas Phase Polyethylene Technology

Using gas phase technology, NOVA Chemicals produces a wide range of LLDPE, MDPE, and HDPE products. These products range from medium molecular weight distribution (MWD) Ziegler-Natta based resins to broad MWD chrome-based products. Our gas phase resins are branded as NOVAPOL® and use butene-1 or hexene-1 comonomers.

Along with reliability, products manufactured using our Gas Phase Polyethylene Technology have superior versatility and can be used in a variety of general-purpose end-use applications for the film and rotational molding markets. Industrial products such as custom marine parts, water tanks and chemical storage containers - as well as consumer products such as food packaging, heavy duty sacks and stretch film are samples of the strength and versatility found in NOVAPOL resins.

Gas Phase Technology can deliver both wide Density ranges (0.914 – 0.958 g/cm3) and wide Melt Index ranges (0.01 to 20 g/10 min) using multiple catalyst systems; Proprietary Advanced Ziegler-Natta NOVACAT™ T and Chromium.
