Polyethylene Applications Testing & Development
The Applications lab in NOVA Chemicals’ Calgary-based Technical Centre contains commercial and semi-commercial and lab-scale plastics processing equipment for evaluating product quality performance and simulating customer processing conditions. Typical programs consist of evaluating new products, developing new product applications, assessing and improving existing products, training customers in product characteristics, and troubleshooting customers’ processing needs.
A wide variety of screws, dies, molds and materials are used to simulate as many different customer processing conditions as possible. Working in conjunction with a computer-based data acquisition system, this equipment provides the most efficient analysis of product and end-use performance.
