Central Alberta Science Festival
We participate and help sponsor the annual Central Alberta Science Festival for school-age children. The festival features displays and presentations on science and technology. A great fit with our technology-focused facilities.
Our Surplus Program identifies materials, such as good quality surplus computer equipment, to address an identified gap in computer/technology support of non-profit groups in our area. The Community Information and Referral Society (CIRS) created Information Management Information Technology (IMIT) to help these agencies get computers in their offices and keep them operating. Other materials, such as office equipment, are made available to non-profit agencies through the United Way of Central Alberta.
Partnering in the Red Deer River Clean Up fits with our responsible approach to be good stewards of the environment. Together with Alberta Environment, the City of Red Deer and many other companies and associations, each year our employees work to clean-up area waterways.

Festival of the Trees supports the David Thompson Regional Health District to benefit patient care. Health and wellness is a priority at the Joffre Site. The annual Festival provides one way for us to support health and wellness - like the latest and the best medical equipment - in the broader community.

Associated with our 25th Anniversary in 2004, we contributed $25,000 to support the injury prevention initiatives of the Safe Communities Coalition of Central Alberta.
Safety excellence has always been one of our priorities. During the years we have participated in many community initiatives such as Safety City, Shelter-in-Place, and youth workplace safety. Safe Communities' goals continue this focus and tie in perfectly with the objectives of our Joffre Site Wellness Council.
Safe Communities includes representatives from business, industry, government, health, service organizations, education, social services, families and individuals-all working to make Central Alberta communities a safer place to live, work, learn and play.
Central Albertans enjoy a vibrant and thriving arts community. NOVA Chemicals, Joffre Site supports the arts through progressive groups like the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra and local youth music festivals.
